Residual Solvents

Residual Solvents

Residual solvents are organic molecules that remain in a product after the manufacturing process. Many of the solvents are of concern because of the risk they present to humans.

Solvent limits are defined by the International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) and United States Pharmacopeia (USP <467>). Solvents fall into one of three general classes based on their toxicity:

Cornerstone Analytical can analyze for Class 1, 2 and 3 residual solvents in a wide range of sample types.
